My husband is handicapped. He will soon be in a wheel chair. It changes how you look at the world. We have already made plans to move our bedroom to the main floor. He loves his jeep, but we’ll soon need to get a handicap accessible van. We’ll probably go for a full sized one, despite the rising gas costs.

I’ve already looked at websites with used handicapped vans for sale I was pleasantly surprised to find dealerships that feature nothing but handicap vans.  I was pleased to find websites like Mobilityworks. I found two or three vans that were suitable for us. I was also pleased to find that accessible vans look just like normal vans.

There are a lot of problems with transporting people in wheelchairs. For example, one thing that no one considers is the fact that I’ll also be older, but it will be my responsibility to get the wheelchair into the van. I’m not that strong.

There is no way we can live without a vehicle for my husband. He loves to drive. There is no way we can ‘ground’ him.  Life is ever evolving. It is a constant change, each offering its own challenges. It is nice that sometimes people work to help us make life easier.
